Bengaluru: A man allegedly assaulted and strangled his son to death after being fed up with frequent spats. The police informed that the incident took place on Friday late night in Nagadevanahalli in west Bengaluru. On the night of the incident, Rajesh, the victim, came home drunk, and started assaulting his father, Lingappa, also known as Lingegowda.
In the preliminary investigation, Lingappa assaulted his 36-year-old son with a wooden plank, and then strangled her to death using a rope. This occurred between 12.50am and 1.15am. Lokes HK, a resident of Chamarajpet, and Rajesh’s cousin told Kangeri Police that he had received a call from the victim’s mother at 12.35 am, said a report by Times of India.
She requested him to come to her home as Rajesh returned in an inebriated condition, and picked up a fight with Lingappa. She asked to resolve the matter. At 1.10 am, the victim’s mother made another call to Lokesh, asking him not to come as it was raining.

Lokesh, however, went to her house with his other aunt as he suspected something was wrong. When the duo reached the house at 1.40 am, they found Rajesh lying unconscious near the gate. Rajesh’s mother told Lokesh that the victim had picked up a fight with his father. He created a ruckus by breaking window glass, kicking the gate, and assaulted Lingappa.
Retaliating to that, Lingappa hit Rajesh with his hands, and kicked him. When the victim did not stop, Lingappa picked up the wooden plank, and started hitting Rajesh. After which, the victim collapsed. Lingappa brought a rope in the meantime, and strangled him to death, said the police, the media report quoted.
