Bengaluru: Overnight rain on Saturday led to massive waterlogging in low-lying areas in Bengaluru and incidents of tree falling were reported from some parts of the city. Bruhat Bengaluru Mahanagara Palike (BBMP) teams have been actively working to restore normalcy. The officials are working to remove water from inundated spots and clearing uprooted trees.
According to the Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) sources, reported PTI, Bengaluru recorded 10.4 mm of rainfall on Saturday. Several roads got submerged in water in the south and east regions of the capital city of Karnataka.
Visuals from Kendriya Vihar apartments in Yelahanka showed flooded basement, leaving vehicles, including cars partially submerged. As per the information, a compound wall collapsed at Binnypet, damaging some two-wheelers that were parked along the wall.
Some of the roads in Kalyan Nagar, near Electronic City, and Bengaluru-Mysuru roads, among others, got inundated leading to traffic congestion.
