believe in the shield: as bryan danielson ends full-time aew career, his never-ending shield connection will leave you shocked

Bryan Danielson's full-time wrestling career came to an end after he lost the AEW World Championship to Jon Moxley at WrestleDream 2024. The wrestling legend lost after the referee decided to stop the match. The title loss meant that Danielson's full-time career came to an end. He won the title at All In 2024 at the Wembley Stadium.

Danielson hasn't retired from wrestling altogether but nothing can be said about his in-ring return either. As of now, he looks set to take a long break and the fans are waiting for a word on his AEW return.

Following Danielson's defeat, a user highlighted his special connection with The Shield. Danielson was part of WWE for more than a decade and performed there as Daniel Bryan. Interestingly, he faced each member of the Shield on the company's respective shows before ending his career.

Danielson took part in his last singles match on Raw against Seth Rollins in 2019. Bryan lost that match in 8 minutes. His last Smackdown match was against Roman Reigns in April 2021. Reigns once again defeated Bryan to retain the Universal Championship.

He left WWE after the end of his contract and joined AEW. Danielson lost to Moxley in his last match as a full-time performer. Moxley performed under the ring name of Dean Ambrose in WWE. He left WWE to join AEW in 2019.

Reigns, Rollins and Ambrose were part of the dominant faction named The Shield. The former WWE team dominated in the ring and won the tag team championship. Rollins broke the group in 2014. The group reunited in 2017 but they didn't perform together for a long time.

Rollins and Reigns are still in WWE while Ambrose has been performing for AEW since his debut. It will be interesting to see if he makes his WWE return for a Hall of Fame induction if the WWE decides to bestow the group with the top honour.
