Nationalist Congress Party leader and former Maharashtra minister Baba Siddique, who had close ties with Bollywood, was brutally murdered on Saturday evening in Bandra, Mumbai. Following the shooting which led to his demise, political leaders and film stars quickly made their way to Lilavati Hospital. Superstars Salman Khan, Sanjay Dutt and Shilpa Shetty were among the first ones to pay their last respects. Zaheer Iqbal and his father, Iqbal Ratansi, were also seen at the hospital.

Zaheer Iqbal Looks Visibly Shaken

Sonakshi Sinha's husband Zaheer, who shares a warm bond with the Siddique family, was seen arriving at the hospital in the wee hours of Sunday. He looked visibly shaken as he made his way through the paparazzi.

Baba Siddique Murder Case

Two persons on a bike opened fire at Siddique while he was travelling in the city on Dussehra evening. Both the suspects have been arrested by the police, and an investigation is underway.

"The names of the two arrested accused are Karnail Singh who is from Haryana and Dharamraj Kashyap who is from Uttar Pradesh. The accused had done recce of Baba Siddiqui's house and office premises, they were in Mumbai for one and a half to two months and were keeping an eye on him. The search for the third accused is on, several teams of the Mumbai Crime Branch are investigating this case," the Mumbai Police said in an official statement, as reported by ANI.

Meanwhile, it is still unclear whether the politician was brought dead to the hospital or succumbed to his injuries at Lilavati. The post-mortem reports are pending.
