Celebrity chef Vikas Khanna's newest culinary venture, Bungalow in New York City, continues to draw Bollywood's finest. The latest star to grace the establishment was none other than Ayushmann Khurrana, who received the royal treatment – quite literally – as he was served the same special dishes that were previously prepared for Shah Rukh Khan.
Taking to Instagram to share the memorable moment, Chef Khanna posted a heartwarming picture with the Vicky Donor star, revealing that this was their first meeting despite their mutual connection through veteran actress Neena Gupta. The chef recalled conversations with Gupta during the simultaneous shootings of Badhaai Ho and The Last Color, where she would often speak highly of Ayushmann's talent.
"Absolutely the nicest, coolest guy," wrote Khanna, expressing his long-standing admiration for Ayushmann's craft. While the specific dishes weren't revealed, the chef made it a point to mention that he served Ayushmann the exact same menu that was enjoyed by King Khan himself.

This special dining experience follows Shah Rukh Khan's recent visit to Bungalow, which left Chef Khanna deeply moved. The chef had previously shared that cooking for SRK was "the biggest honour of my career and life" – even more significant than hosting four American presidents and various world leaders. During that visit, SRK had touched Khanna's heart by saying, "I've not come to just a restaurant, I've come to honour a place that represents our parents and our culture."
Bungalow’s menu is a journey through India through the eyes of Chef Vikas Khanna. With special touches from his own past such as Ammi’s Lamb Chops made with raw papaya, aamchur, and jaggery and inspired by his family recipes. The venture is also a testament to his late sister and the menu showcases some of her favourites as well.
Since its opening in March 2024, Bungalow has quickly established itself as a celebrity hotspot in New York City. The restaurant has welcomed an impressive roster of guests, including Sex and the City star Sarah Jessica Parker, Aamir Khan, The Office actress Jenna Fischer, and veteran actor Boman Irani.
The chef also extended a thoughtful mention to Ayushmann's wife, Tahira Kashyap, who couldn't make it to the dinner, signing off his post with "Missed you @tahirakashyap Thank you Ayushmann for visiting Bungalow."
