Update: The Atlanta Police Department, in its latest post, said: “UPDATE as of 4:35pm: The shelter in place has been lifted. We ask that citizens still avoid the area. Streets will continue to be closed in the area for a period, as the investigation continues. The suspect has been apprehended and is in custody.”
A video of a suspect at Atlanta's Four Seasons Hotel, dropping furniture from the building and throwing his hands up, has surfaced amid a shelter-in-place. This comes as gunshots rang out at the hotel after police responded to a report of a person with a gun. Authorities asked people to stay away from the high rise on 14th Street Northeast.

WSB TV reported that the suspect has been taken into custody.
"Citizens within site of the Four Seasons Hotel are advised to avoid any windows and rooms facing the area," Atlanta Police Department said on X, platform formerly known as Twitter.

NBC affiliate WXIA earlier reported that a SWAT team and at least one police sniper had responded to the situation along with dozens of officers on the ground. Multiple rounds of gunfire were heard in the area. Officials said they established a perimeter around the high rise.

According to local media reports, the suspect was arrested after he threw a handgun off the balcony. Videos from the area show a man wearing an apparent Halloween mask throwing items from a hotel balcony.
