Actor Ashwini Chandrashekar, who has her roots in Shivamogga returns to Kannada cinema as she joins the cast of Vijay Raghvendra starrer film, titled Rippen Swaamy.
Ashwini Chandrashekar as Mangala
The film's unit of Rippen Swaamy, in their latest update about the female protagonist shared that the multi-talented actor Ashwini Chandrashekhar plays Mangala, a doctor by profession in the film. She will be seen as wife to Vijay Raghavendra’s character in the film.
Though born and brought up in Shivamogga, Ashwini Chandrashekhar pursued her engineering studies in Bengaluru before taking up acting. A passionate dancer, Ashwini Chandrashekhar has vidwat (certificate) in dance.
Her previous Kannada films include Prema Pallaki, Ondu Romantic Prema Kathe and Octopus. In Telugu, Ashwini has featured in films like Aavu Puli Madhyalo Prabhas Pelli and amongst others. In Tamil, Ashwini has a few in her kitty including the hit series Jiivi and Jiivi 2directed by V J Gopinath. According to reports, the third instalment of the Tamil thriller Jiivi is on the cards.

Rippen Swaamy
A recent poster of Rippen Swaamy has caught the attention of Kannada audience, which showcase Vijay Raghvendra in a raw and gritty look. Vijay Raghavendra makes a comeback after an impressive back to back Kannada films, Case of Kondana and Grey Games.
Kishor Mudubidire, known for his critically acclaimed Kannada film Malgudi Days, returns with a raw subject Rippen Swaamy which promises for a mass appeal story.
The film boasts an ensemble cast including Vijay Raghavendra, Ashwini Chandrasekhar, Prakash Thummi Nadu, Vajradir Jain, Yamuna Srinidhi, Mohan Sheni and Krishnamurthy Kawattar.
The movie was shot over 48 days in and around Koppa, Kalasa and Balehonnur. Popular Malayalam music director Samuel Aby is composing for the film while cinematographer has been handled by Ranganath C M.
