New Delhi: Aam Aadmi Party (supremo) Arvind Kejriwal is likely to vacate his government residence soon and will move to a new house along with his family.

Kejriwal, who resigned as the Chief Minister on September 17 after getting bail in the liquor policy case, had said that he would not use any government facilities and vacate the residence during Navratri period. The auspicious Hindu festival commences from Thursday. He will be vacating the official residence of Delhi chief minister at Flagstaff Road in Civil Lines in a day or two.

"Kejriwal will leave the official CM residence in next 1-2 days, as a house has been finalised for him and his family," the party said in a statement without disclosing location of the new accommodation.

Earlier, the party said that a house is being searched for Kejriwal near the New Delhi constituency, which he represents in the Delhi assembly, as he wanted to stay close to the people. Kejriwal will live with his family in the New Delhi constituency represented by him in the Delhi Assembly, the party said. Kejriwal has been an MLA from New Delhi constituency in 2013, when he defeated then Chief Minister Sheila Dikshit and retained the seat in 2015 and 2020.

Where Will Arvind Kejriwal Live?

A house has been finalised in New Delhi area for the AAP convener Arvind Kejriwal where he will move along with his family, the AAP said in a statement.

Kejriwal is likely to move in with his family in one of the two official bungalows allotted to the AAP Rajya Sabha MPs on Feroz Shah Road near Mandi House, sources in the party claimed.

The two bungalows are just a few metres away to the AAP headquarters at Ravi Shankar Shukla Lane.

Earlier, the AAP had also demanded the Central government to provide an official residence to Kejriwal as the chief of a national party.

Where Arvind Kejriwal Lived Before Becoming The Delhi CM

Before becoming Delhi's Chief Minister for the first time in December 2013, Kejriwal lived in Ghaziabad's Kaushambi area.

As the Chief Minister, Kejriwal had stayed in a house in Tilak Lane in central Delhi. After the AAP secured a landslide victory in the 2015 Assembly polls, Kejriwal moved to a house at 6, Flagstaff Road in north Delhi's Civil Lines area.
