Ever since its inception in 2020, Rajan Shahi-produced Anupamaa has been topping the TRP charts. However, last week, for the first time, the TV soap dropped to the second position. It was replaced by Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai, also produced by Shahi. In a new interview, Sudhanshu Pandey, who previously played the role of Vanraj Shah, reacted to it.

The Anupamaa fame expressed, "Four years is a long time. They have done an incredible job with that. If it is going down a little bit, I think it is absolutely okay because it is inhuman for any show to just be there on top continuously. Thoda bahut upar neeche toh hoga (There will be some fluctuations), and I think that is natural."
Pandey expressed gratitude for the opportunities that Rajan Shahi's show has provided him with. He also talked about how the show has changed his life. The actor also said that he has been getting a lot of offers but is waiting for the right one. Sudhanshu Pandey announced his departure from Anupamaa in August 2024.
Anupamaa controversy
On November 14, 2024, a 32-year-old focus puller died on the sets of Anupamaa due to an electric shock. Cops have identified him as Vineet Kumar Mandal. The mishap reportedly happened while the man was handling some technical equipment and he accidentally came in contact with a live wire. He was rushed to the hospital immediately but died while being treated there. According to the initial investigations, Mandal may have neglected safety precautions. The Federation of Western India Cine Employees (FWICE) soon stepped in to launch an inquiry into the unfortunate incident.
According to ETimes, the Aarey police have confirmed that Mandal, a native of Bihar, died on the spot due to electrocution. According to Senior Police officials, the accident occurred when Mandal attempted to lift a light stand without wearing protective gloves. The exact circumstances are still being investigated. Meanwhile, initial findings suggest negligence on Mandal's part. A case has been registered under Section 106 (1).3(5) of the Indian Penal Code at Aarey police station.
The production house of Anupamaa has not yet issued a formal statement.
