After its premiere on September 17, 2021, Squid Game has gone on to become Netflix’s biggest foreign language show of all time with 265 million views. The eagerly awaited second season will return this December and IC 814: The Kandahar Hijack's Anupam Tripathi will tune in this time as a fan. The actor was praised for his performance as Ali Abdul in Season 1 but won’t be back this season. In an interview with Zoom, he wished the new cast members joining the second season well.
Anupam Tripathi on Squid Game Season 2
While Ali Abdul won’t return, Lee Jung-jae aka Player 456 is back for another dangerous round. Speaking with Zoom, Anupam Tripathi felt that “you never know what happens” in the world of Squid Game. The actor, who plays Ram Chandra Yadav on the new Netflix hostage dramaIC 814: The Kandahar Hijack, said, “Like me, any other actor or director or writer who was looking their chances, I wish them all the best. Whoever comes like me and shines out, that would be great. Then they can create something wonderful also.”
Anupam was one of many breakthrough cast members from Squid Game. He and the main Squid Game cast were also nominated for the Screen Actors Guild Awards for Outstanding Performance by an Ensemble in a Drama Series. While he continues to do roles in South Korea, the actor was keen to take on more roles in India.

He shared that he is waiting patiently for his next opportunity, "Story is the base, actor is the face, and director is the medium. I was just thinking, people were wondering if I am able to speak Hindi or not. Let me clear that thing with this and then let's see because I want to be a working actor with whomsoever. I wish to be a part of these stories continuously."
About Squid Game Season 2
The official synopsis for Season 2 states, “Three years after winning Squid Game, Player 456 gave up going to the states and comes back with a new resolution in his mind. Gi-hun once again dives into the mysterious survival game, starting another life-or-death game with new participants gathered to win the prize of 456 billion won.” Emmy-winning director Hwang Dong-hyuk also returns as director, writer, and producer.

The list of new cast members (and potential competitors) is long as actors Yim Si-wan, Kang Ha-neul, Park Gyu-young, Lee Jin-uk, Park Sung-hoon, Yang Dong-geun, Kang Ae-sim, Lee David, Choi Seung-hyun, Roh Jae-won, Jo Yu-ri, and Won Ji-an join the ensemble of Squid Game.
