Pune: A food delivery agent died after being hit by a speeding Audi car in the Mundhwa area of Pune on Friday. The car driver tried to flee but the police arrested him. The incident took place around 2 am.
Pune's Additional Commissioner of Police, Manoj Patil, confirmed that the officers are conducting further investigations into the accident.
This is incident comes months after the Porsche hit-and-run in Kalyani nagar. On the night of May 18, 2024, the 17-year-old son of a Pune businessman knocked down two people with his unregistered Porsche Tycoon. The minor, who reportedly spent Rs 69,000 on alcohol while celebrating his Class 12 results, was driving the SUV at over 200 km/h at the time of the accident, around 2 AM.
The victim – two tech professionals, Anish and Ashwini – was struck by the speeding Porsche in Kalyani Nagar. The impact was so severe that Anish and Ashwini were thrown several feet away, dying instantly.
Passersby managed to catch the young men in the Porsche, and the police arrived quickly, taking them to the Yerwada police station for further action.
