Paul J. Gavenonis, a Pennsylvania resident, was arrested for allegedly threatening to kill former President Donald Trump a day before his rally in Allentown on Tuesday. The 74-year-old reportedly declared: "I'd like to shoot that guy". Several social media users wondered if there was another assassination attempt on the Republican presidential nominee. No, there wasn't.
According to the Centre County Public Defender’s Office, Gavenonis uses she/her pronouns. She was nabbed after she was overheard making the alleged threats while trying to buy a parking pass last Friday, the Lexington Herald Leader reported.

“I hate Donald Trump. I’d like to shoot that guy,” Gavenonis allegedly. According to the report, she also made a gun-racking motion with her hand. The arrest affidavit states that the 74-year-old allegedly described climbing to the top of a building, saying “you can’t take a gun in or the students will see it.”
A witness was alarmed by these comments and notified Penn State Police. Officers with the agency interviewed the 74-year-old, along with members of the US Secret Service. According to the report, Gavenonis allegedly laughed about Trump and the rally.

When asked if she believed that assassinating the former president was possible, she allegedly said: "Probably. Yeah."
"Frankly, I hope somebody would get him," she said as per the report, before telling Secret Service agents that she also had a rifle at home.
Paul J. Gavenonis was charged with disorderly conduct and making terroristic threats. She was scheduled to have a preliminary hearing Wednesday morning at the Centre County Court.
