Ananya Panday is grateful for getting to work with some of the biggest names this early in her career. The 25-year-old, who completes five years in Bollywood in 2024, however claims that she still feels like a newcommer.
In an exclusive chat with Zoom, Ananya said, “Even though it’s been five years, I feel like I’m starting a new life at the stage that I’m in right now, and I’m looking forward to doing more work where roles are more demanding and they kind of challenge me even more.”

The way Ananya appraoches a character today
Ananya claimed that while the way she approaches her characters has evolved, what she looks for in a script has also undergone change. Today, she views a story the way she'll react to it as an audience. "Because when I'm reading a script or hearing it for the first time, I'm almost imagining myself watching that. So it's about how I would react as an audience. I kind of try to see it like that. And I think of it as do I want to tell the story. Do I want to be a part of telling the story? And when it feels like I have to tell the story, it's almost bursting out of me is when I feel like it's correct," she explained.
Ananya recently made her digital debut with Prime Video show Call Me Bae. While she feels she has grown as an artiste, she wouldn’t mind giving her younger self, some advice. “I would say to be patient and to not rush things and to not feel like everything has to happen right now. Everything happens at the right time, all in good time,” she quiped.

Ananya is averse to doing this!
Ananya has worked in varied genres, from romance to comedies, action and even drama. She now yearns to try her hand at horror. "I really want to do something scary," she shared.
So, is there anything she's averse to doing onscreen or wouldn't wish to repeat from her past mistakes? "I'm averse to doing things that don't align with my personal beliefs. I wouldn't do something that's super misogynistic or in that zone, I don't think I'd get into something which I don't believe as a person, I would not be able to send out that message," she concluded.
