With Hurricane Milton strengthening into a Category 5 hurricane Monday, a video of an Amazon's Alexa-based device predicting the Hurricane's destruction has gone viral. In the video, the user of the device asks about the impact of Milton, to which the Alexa device responds, even though the hurricane is yet to make landfall.

"Alexa, what kind of hurricane was Hurricane Milton," the user in the video asks. Alexa answers: "From fandom.com, Hurricane Milton was a extremely powerful Category 5 hurricane that caused widespread damage across its path in October 2024."

Milton, currently in the Gulf of Mexico, rapidly gathering strength, is on a path towards Florida with the looming danger of making landfall as a Category 5 hurricane. A dangerous storm surge is expected in Tampa Bay and Florida Governor Ron De'Santis has declared a state of emergency for those parts of the state. Mass evacuation could take place soon, coming on the back of the Hurricane Helene earlier this month.

The Associated Press reported that in the Fort Myers, Florida, people stocking up fuels has made gas station across the area to run out of fuel. People are scrambling to stock up on supplies at supermarkets ahead of the landfall.

Governor De'Santis has suspended tolls on all Florida roads for the next seven days to help traffic move quickly amid possible mass evacuations.

“With evacuation orders imminent, this will help keep traffic moving and be one less thing for people to worry about ahead of Milton,” DeSantis said Monday.
