To make sure you don’t miss out on the big news in the alcohol space here’s a roundup of some of the latest developments in the space and some new launches you need to add to your wishlist.

Johnnie Walker Unveils Lightest Bottle For Reduced Eco Footprint

Johnnie Walker is making a bold move in the luxury spirits market with the launch of the Johnnie Walker Blue Label Ultra, packaged in the world’s lightest whisky bottle. Weighing just 180 grams without the closure, yet holding 700 millilitres, the bottle sets a global record low. The company says the design reflects a shift towards lighter, more delicate luxury packaging. Collaborating with Turkish glassmaker Sisecam, the iconic square bottle was redesigned into a teardrop shape, balancing beauty and functionality. This innovation also supports Diageo’s sustainability goals, reducing glass usage and carbon emissions.

Bacardi Expands Breezers To India-Centric Flavours

Bacardi Breezers have long been a favourite alcopop in India since they launched in 2002 and are uniquely placed in the ready-to-drink (RTD) alcohol market. With just the right amount of alcohol content plus enticing sweet flavours, it’s a go-to for people who prefer their drinks a little fruitier. This year, they’re stepping up their game with flavours tailored to the Indian palate like the latest Mango Peach fusion and Watermelon variants which capture a delicious summery-sweetness in in a fizzy, alcoholic form.

Macallan Releases The World's Oldest Whiskies

As part of its '200 Years Young' celebrations, The Macallan has introduced the Time: Space Collection, featuring two new releases that explore the brand’s interpretation of time through whisky craftsmanship. The first, an 84-year-old single malt, housed in a dual-chamber vessel, represents the past and offers rich notes of charred pineapple, baked peaches, and dark chocolate. The second, a five-year-old vintage from Macallan's new distillery, presents flavours of golden sultanas and buttery pastry. Both whiskies are displayed in a handcrafted oak sculpture, paying homage to the brand’s dedication to Sherry-seasoned oak casks, with only 200 vessels created.
