Ahead of Maharashtra polls, the INDIA bloc has questioned the Election Commission, saying that "there are discrepancies in the voter list and claiming that the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) is changing the list with the help of the Election Commission."

Speaking to the media, Shiv Sena (UBT Faction) leader Sanjay Raut said, "In every assembly constituency where the BJP is contesting, they are searching for voters who voted for the MVA in the Lok Sabha elections. They plan to remove 10,000 genuine voters from each assembly constituency and replace them with 10,000 bogus voters."

Maharashtra will go to polls on November 20, to elect the 288 members to its Legislative Assembly. The counting and results will be declared on November 23.

With this, the political parties have begun gearing up for an election that will be unprecedented in many ways.In the 2019 Maharashtra Assembly polls, the Congress and unified Shiv Sena had won 154 out of 288 seats as part of the Maha Vikas Aghadi (MVA) coalition.

However, this time around the Shiv Sena (UBT), Sharad Pawar's NCP and Congress are in alliance to counter the BJP-led Mahayuti alliance.
