Bengaluru: Sandalwood actor Thandav Ram has been arrested by the Bengaluru police after he opened fire at director Bharat Navunda over an issue with the production of a film. According to the police, the two had some trouble over a movie’s production.
Bengaluru police commissioner Dayanand said that a case has been registered against the actor and the gun, which is a licensed one, has been seized. The incident occurred near Chandra layout police station limits on Monday.
The two had some differences pertaining to a movie production and financial matters. They got engaged in a scuffle and Thabdav Ram intentionally opened fire at the director.
Thandav Ram has played leading roles in television shows like Jodi Hakki and Bhoomige Bandha Bhagavantha. According to a report in NDTV, he had allegedly paid Rs 6 lakh to Navunda. He invested the money for a Kannada-Telugu drama 'Devanampriya', in which Thandav was to play the lead role.
However, the report mentioned, the shooting suddenly after two years after which Thandav Ram asked Navunda for his money.
