Dax Riggs’ legendary sludge metal band, Acid Bath, has announced its first show in nearly 30 years. The group, who disbanded in 1991 and reformed in 1997, will resurface in April 2025 at the Sick New World metal event in Las Vegas. Alongside them on stage will be Metallica, Linkin Park, Queens of the Stone Age, Tomahawk, The Sisters of Mercy, and Refused, to name a few. It is unknown at this time whether Acid Bath will plan any more performances.

Acid Bath, a Louisiana-based band, developed a cult following because to their powerful mashup of psychedelic, doom, and sludge metal sounds. During their first run, they put out two albums: Paegan Terrorism Tactics in 1996 and When the Kite String Pops in 1994. In 1997, the band broke up after bassist Audie Pitre passed away. Demos: 1993-1996, a compilation album featuring previously unheard songs and early demos from the band's early years, was published in 2005.

Dax Riggs has also revealed his first solo record in fifteen years. The album, 7 Songs For Spiders, will be available through Bright Shadow/Fat Possum Records on January 24, 2025. The first taste of the project is the first track, "Deceiver," which Riggs refers to as "a country and western doom ballad." Bassist Kane Cormier, drummer Scott Domingue, and guitarist Lucas Broussard make up the ensemble for 7 Songs For Spiders. Other performers include Jason Harrington, who provided electronic wind instruments and violin, and Jerry Businelli, who performed guitar on two tunes. This album, which will be Riggs' first since Say Goodnight to the World in 2010, will take him into new musical realms and broaden his solo repertoire.

The following is the track listing for 7 Songs For Spiders:

  • Deceiver
  • Sunshine Felt The Darkness Smile
  • Even The Stars Fall
  • Blues For You Know Who
  • Ain’t That Darkness
  • Pagan Moon
  • Graveyard Soul
