The fate of the 2025 ICC Champions Trophy remains uncertain after India refused to travel to Pakistan for the marquee event. Pakistan are scheduled to host the Champions Trophy next year.
A hybrid model has been mooted for the Champions Trophy to be conducted in time, but the Pakistan Cricket Board put up some demands to the ICC in order to accept the current proposal.
Amid the Champions Trophy conundrum, it has been reported that India is stripped of their hosting rights for the upcoming 2025 Blind Women’s T20 World Cup. As per a Geo.TV report, the decision came after India's refusal to travel to Pakistan for the Men's T20 Blind World Cup.
As per the report, the World Blind Cricket Council (WBCC) had a meeting in Multan and questions were raised over India's refusal to grant their team a No Objection Certificate (NOC) to travel to Pakistan.
The WBCC also decided that both India and Pakistan would not host any tournaments until they sort out their differences with each other. The two countries can opt to host their tournaments at neutral venues in a bid to overcome and visa and NOC issues.
The Indian Cricket Team hasn't travelled to Pakistan since the Asia Cup in 2008. The 2023 Asia Cup of which Pakistan had the sole hosting rights was also conducted in a hybrid model with India's matches being hosted by Sri Lanka.
Pakistan have visited India multiple times with the most recent being the ICC ODI World Cup last year. Coming to the Blind World Cup, Pakistan thrashed Nepal to secure a place in the final and they will take on fellow Asian side Bangladesh in the summit clash on Tuesday.
