According to reports, parts of New York, Ohio, and Michigan experienced nearly 2 feet of snowfall. Pennsylvania’s northwestern region, on the other hand, recorded 29 inches. By early Saturday, areas near Lakes Erie and Ontario had already seen up to 24 inches of snow.

Additionally, a surge of Arctic air swept through the Northern Plains, plunging temperatures 10 to 20 degrees below normal. The National Weather Service also issued cold advisories in areas of North Dakota.

Meanwhile, an arctic blast is also predicted for the UK. It can send the temperatures as low as -12C. Met Office forecaster Marco Petagna said that the sudden change in temperature was due to icy winds from the Arctic blowing into the UK.
