Bove, 22, collapsed unexpectedly, sending authorities and players into a frenzy. Players from both sides formed a protective ring around the midfielder and motioned for medics. While Bove was being treated on the field, the referee stopped the game.
Following basic medical care on-field, Bove was carried out on a stretcher and urgently transported to a hospital. After the incident, the referee asked all players to leave the field and paused play. Eventually, the match was suspended.

In August, Edoardo Bove left Roma to sign a season-long loan with Fiorentina. Fiorentina had the option to finalize the transfer as part of the agreement. In October, he scored his first goal for the team. The goal was scored against Roma, his parent club.

Edoardo Bove started playing football for a small Roman team called Boreale Donorione. Following a successful trial, he joined Roma's youth program in 2012. Bove scored his first senior goal against Verona in February 2022 after making his professional debut for Roma on May 9, 2021. Although he hasn't yet played for the senior national team, he has represented Italy at the junior level up to the under-21 level throughout his career.
Bove was born in Rome and comes from a multicultural family with German-Italian ancestry. Naples is the birthplace of his paternal family. Bove studied at the Massimo Institute and played football while growing up in Rome's Appio-Latino neighborhood.
