Greater Noida: Delivering the keynote address at the International Conference on Artificial Intelligence, Privacy, and Governance, Rajeev Chandrasekhar, Former Minister of State for Electronics & IT, highlighted India’s pivotal role in shaping AI governance globally while tackling domestic challenges. Speaking at the event hosted by Bennett University’s School of Liberal Arts (SoLA) in collaboration with INET and YSI, Chandrasekhar declared, “We are living in the AI age, a transformative era where technology and innovation are rewriting the playbook.” He emphasised the unprecedented opportunities for young professionals, stating, “For students of law, jurisprudence around technology is almost going to be written ab initio, as past frameworks become obsolete.”

Chandrasekhar underscored the deep transformation India has undergone over the past decade, with the nation now boasting the world's fastest-growing digital economy and an innovation economy poised to contribute a quarter of the GDP. "AI's real power lies in its ability to enhance decision-making, streamline processes, and transform governance," he said, pointing to Digital Public Infrastructure as a cornerstone of this evolution.

The conference, which runs until December 2, has brought together prominent figures in AI, governance, and law, including Prof. Maurice Stucke (University of Tennessee), Dr. Akash Kapur (Princeton University), Honorable Justice Dr. A.K. Jayasankaran Nambiar (Kerala High Court), and Prof. K. Gopinath (Rishihood University).

Through panel discussions, academic presentations, and keynote addresses, the event explores how AI can be responsibly developed to serve humanity’s best interests, cementing SoLA's position as a leading center for discourse on emerging technologies.
