Pakistan U-19 team opener Shahzaib Khan on Saturday, November 30 etched his name in history books during his brilliant knock against arch-rivals India at the Asia Cup in Dubai. He played a stunning 159-run knock, taking the Indian bowlers all around the park at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium and his team to a respectable score.
Shahzaib's marathon 159-run knock propelled Pakistan to 281/7 batting first and also etched his name into a few record books.
Shahzaib's 159 off 147 deliveries is now the highest individual score ever scored against India U-19, as he went past compatriot Sami Aslam's 134 off 124 deliveries set in the final of the Asia Cup that year. The match ended in a tie, thanks to India skipper Unmukt Chand's 121 and Baba Aparajith's 90-run knocks.

Shahzaib is now one of the few U19 batters to have scored a century against India, joining Colin Ackermann (129 off 113) and Kadeer Ali's 125 off 122. Notably, in none of the three aforementioned innings, the centurions ended up on the winning side.
Shahzaib smacked 10 sixes during his innings, which is also a record for the most sixes in an innings by a Pakistan U-19 batter. Kamran Ghulam earlier held this record with seven sixes.
Opting to bat first, Shahzaib and his fellow opener Usman Khan built a 160-run opening partnership as the Indian bowlers toiled hard but couldn't find a breakthrough. Ayush Mhatre broke the partnership in the 31st over, but Shahzaib and Mohammad Riazullah added 71 runs for the third wicket before Samarth Nagaraj dismissed the latter in the 44th over.
