Chennai Super Kings (CSK) was one of the franchises to watch out for during the IPL 2025 mega-auction, which took place on November 24 and 25. CSK's officials weren't that busy during the two-day event. CSK only bid for certain players and managed to buy many players they bid for. R Ashwin returning to Chennai Super Kings after 10 years was the biggest talking point from the CSK's table.

CSK tried to re-sign Deepak Chahar but missed out. The opening bowler joined Mumbai Indians for Rs 9.25 crore. Interestingly, CSK re-signed as many as 4 players in the mega-auction. As the fans now eagerly wait for IPL 2025, here we have a look at complete changes in Chennai Super Kings –

R Ashwin returned to CSK after 10 years. He started his IPL career with CSK in 2009 under MS Dhoni's captaincy and stayed with them till 2015. They tried to re-sign Ashwin in the IPL 2018 mega-auction but missed out. Ashwin joined Rajasthan Royals (RR) in 2022.

Interestingly, RR were once again interested in signing Ashwin and were involved in a bidding war with CSK. Their final bid for Ashwin was worth Rs 9.50 crore. Ashwin joined CSK for Rs 9.75 crore.

CSK tried to re-sign few of their players in the mega-auction but missed out. They were ready to spend big money on Deepak Chahar and their final bid for the pacer was worth Rs 9 crore. He joined Mumbai Indians for Rs 9.25 crore.

CSK successfully re-signed four players in the mega-auction. They used their Right to Match card on Rachin Ravindra. Punjab Kings (PBKS) raised his price from 3.20 crore to 4 crore but CSK matched it. CSK bought Decon Conway for Rs 6.25 crore after another bidding war with PBKS. Mukesh Choudhary and Shaik Rasheed are two other players who were re-signed by CSK.
