Fishing Vessel Collides With Indian Navy Unit Off Goa Coast: 11 Rescued, Search On For 2 Crew Members

An Indian fishing vessel collided with an Indian Navy unit near Goa on Thursday evening. Immediate Search and Rescue (SAR) efforts led to the rescue of 11 out of 13 crew members, while operations continue to locate the remaining two.

"An Indian fishing vessel Marthoma with a crew of 13 reportedly collided with an Indian Naval unit PM 21 November 2024 about 70 nm North West of Goa. Search and Rescue efforts were immediately launched by the Indian Navy with six ships and aircraft. 11 crew have been rescued so far," Indian Navy said in a press brief. "Search and Rescue efforts for remaining two is underway and is being coordinated with MRCC (Mumbai). Additional assets have been diverted to the area to augment the efforts."
