President-elect Donald Trump announced Monday that he will pick former Wisconsin Rep. Sean Duffy as the secretary of transportation.
Duffy, 53, is a Fox News contributor who co-hosts the evening Fox Business Network program "The Bottom Line."
"I am pleased to announce that former Congressman Sean Duffy, from the Great State of Wisconsin, is nominated to serve as the Secretary of Transportation. Sean has been a tremendous and well-liked public servant, starting his career as a District Attorney for Ashland, Wisconsin, and later elected to the US House of Representatives for Wisconsin's 7th Congressional District," Trump said in a statement released Monday.
Who Is Sean Duffy?
Duffy served as a special prosecutor and district attorney of Ashland County who won election to Congress in 2010. He then resigned from Congress in 2019. The former prosecutor, served in the House for around nine years, was chairman of the subcommittee of housing and insurance and was a member of the Financial Services Committee.
"As a member of the House Financial Services Committee, Sean played a key role in shaping and strengthening Economic policies, and ensuring Transparency and Accountability in Government programs. Sean's leadership extended to championing the needs of families, farmers, and small businesses, especially in rural communities," the statement read.
Duffy's Career In Reality Shows
Apart from the political world, Duffy is also a former reality TV star. He appeared on MTV's "The Real World: Boston" a show aired in 1997. He also featured on a 1998 MTV show "Road Rules: All Stars", where he met his future wife.

The Fox News contributor is married to Fox News host Rachel Campos-Duffy. The couple has nine children together.
