Two men were fatally stabbed, and a woman was critically injured during a random stabbing spree in Manhattan on Monday morning, according to police and sources. The attacker, armed with a knife, carried out the brutal assaults in an unprovoked act of violence, authorities reported.

It happened around 8:17 a.m. Monday at 29th Street near Eighth Avenue in Chelsea when the 51-year-old man approached a 30-year-old man on West 19th Street near Eight Avenue and stabbed him in the stomach.

That victim was rushed to Bellevue Hospital, where he died, cops said, New York Post reported. Approximately two hours later, the attacker struck again, moving to East 30th Street near the FDR Drive, where he stabbed a man in his 60s multiple times, according to police and sources.

That man was taken to the same hospital, where he too succumbed to his injuries, New York Post said.

Later, at 11 am, the brute stabbed a woman in the chest at East 42nd Street and First Avenue cops. The woman was taken to Weill Cornell Medical Center, where she is said to be in critical condition.

According to reports, sources said that the stabbing was random and the man started disputed with each of his victims. The suspect, who is a resident of the Bellevue Men's Shelter, was taken into custody at East 46th Street and First Avenue.
