Just over two months to go from Inauguration Day, President-elect Donald Trump’s signature YMCA dance has taken over the NFL and the UF. First seen during Trump’s campaign rallies, where he performed the dance to the tune of Village People's song, YMCA, the move has since found its way to professional sports in the US.
On Sunday Night Football (November 17), members of the San Francisco 49ers defense celebrated a key moment with the Trump dance after Nick Bosa’s sack on Tampa Bay Buccaneers quarterback Baker Mayfield. What followed was other players incorporating the dance in their celebrations through the weekend.

The dance wasn’t confined to the football field. It also appeared on Saturday night at UFC 309 during a high-profile MMA bout. Jon “Bones” Jones celebrated his third-round TKO victory over Stipe Miocic by performing the Trump Dance in the octagon. “I also want to say a big thank you to President Donald Trump for being here tonight,” Jones said in the post-match interview.
