Police Respond To Clewiston Walmart Amid Shooting, Active Shooter Reports: What We Know

Clewiston Police responded to Clewiston Walmart on Friday evening after receiving reports of a shooting and active shooter. In a Facebook post, police confirmed that no one was shot and the suspect was arrested.

"Earlier this evening, Clewiston Police and members of the Hendry County Sheriff’s Office responded to the Clewiston Walmart in reference to an active shooter. Thankfully no one was shot in the incident and we have a suspect in custody. This investigation is very active and no additional information is being released at this time. We believe there is no longer a threat to the public. We would like to thank Sheriff Steve Whidden for his unwavering support and his deputies for their assistance," police said.
