Sanju Samson Becomes First Player In History To Achieve Unique T20I Feat

Sanju Samson registered his second cosecutive duck in T20Is, after his duck in the second T20I vs South Africa. Before these two matches, Samson became the first Indian to score consecutve T20I centuries. He slammed 111 and 107 respectively in the 3rd T20I vs Bangladesh and the first T20I vs South Africa.

Samson thus became the first player in history to score two consecutive ducks after scoring two consecutive centuries in T20I history.

Sanju Samson Creates Multiple Embarrassing Records

Sanju Samson's duck in the third T20I against South Africa is the fifth time in 2024 that he has got out for 0 in the shortest format of the game. Samson thus becomes the first Indian in history to score five ducks in a single calendar year in T20Is. Samson had earlier broken the record of scoring the most number of ducks by an Indian in T20I history, after he got out for a duck in the second T20I.

Sanju Samson also scored his 6th duck in T20Is. He thus overtakes KL Rahul to become the Indian with the third most number of ducks in the history of T20Is. He is only preceded by Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli. He continues being the wicketkeeper with the most number of T20I ducks for India, having already overtaken Rishabh Pant with his duck in the 2nd T20I.
