"Living as an adult is tough for anyone. Don't carry all that weight on your own and ask for a shoulder," said Song Jae-rim in the popular show Clean With Passion For Now and this scene has rented a special place in our hearts. Tragically, Song Jae-rim, the South Korean actor known for his charismatic roles, was found dead at his apartment in Seoul’s Seongdong District on Tuesday, November 12. He was 39 years old.
Police confirmed that he was reportedly discovered with a two-page letter, though the cause of death is still under investigation. His sudden passing has shocked the South Korean entertainment industry, leaving his fans and colleagues in mourning.

Song Jae-rim had made his mark in the industry with numerous roles across K-dramas and films. He debuted in 2009 with the film Actresses, but it was his role in Clean With Passion For Now that brought him widespread recognition. In this drama, which starred Kim Yoo-jung and Yoo Kyun-sang, Song played Daniel Choi, a free-spirited psychiatrist from the Rochester Clinic. His character lived on the rooftop of Kim Yoo-jung’s character Oh-sol’s house, where he fell in love with her and also helped Yoo Kyun-sang’s character, who struggled with extreme OCD issues due to past trauma.
However,Clean With Passion For Now also featured actor Cha In-ha, who played the role of Hwang Jae-min, a character who was chased out of his home and pursued his dreams of becoming an actor. Cha In-ha also tragically passed away in 2019 and was found dead in his home in Seoul. He was a member of the agency Fantagio and a part of the group Surprise U. The 27-year-old star’s agency issued a statement expressing it was ‘filled with grief’ and asked the public to refrain from speculating about the cause of death.

Though Song Jae-rim and Cha In-Ha did not share screen time together in Clean With Passion For Now, both actors played significant roles in the show, which was adapted from a webtoon of the same name. The loss of both actors within a few years of each other has left a void in the K-drama industry.
