Every year, Tulsi Vivah is celebrated on the twelfth day of the Shukla Paksha in the month of Kartik. The day before this date is known as Prabodhini Ekadashi or Dev Uthani Ekadashi. In some of regions, it is celebrated over a period of five days, culminating on the full moon day of Kartik month.

This year, the Dwadashi Tithi of Shukla Paksha of Kartik month is starting on 12th November at 04:04 PM. Whereas this Tithi will end on 13th November at 01:01 PM. In such a situation, Tulsi Vivah will be performed on Wednesday, 13th November.

Tusli Vivah Samagri

  • Tulsi plant, idol or picture of Lord Vishnu and Shaligram ji.
  • Red coloured cloth, Kalash, Puja Chowki.
  • Suhag items such as anklets, vermilion, bindi, chunri, sindoor, mehndi.
  • Radish, sweet potato, water chestnut, amla, plum, radish, custard apple, guava.
  • Banana leaves, turmeric powder.
  • Coconut, camphor, incense.

How is Tulsi Vivah Performed?

On this day, one should first wake up during Brahma Muhurta, take a bath, and then, with the sound of conch and bells, recite mantras to awaken Lord Vishnu. After this, his worship is performed. In the evening, lamps are lit in homes and temples, and at dusk, the wedding of Lord Shaligram and Mother Tulsi is conducted.
