ram gopal varma on landing in legal trouble for chandrababu naidu posts: haven't received any notice | excl

Ram Gopal Varma sounded puzzled about his latest run-in with the law. Apparently, a police complaint has been lodged against the director for expressing his valued opinion on a powerful politician.

When we got in touch with RGV, he sounded nonchalant. “I have been through this kind of a thing many times. No, I don’t look for trouble. Trouble looks for me. But seriously, I am only hearing about this police complaint against me in the media. I haven’t received any notice or summon or whatever.”

The Aag director also reveals that he has stopped tweeting about political matters. “It is too troublesome. I won’t say dangerous. I am not scared of danger and never have been. But it becomes wearisome to keep track of what politicians are doing and what they are saying and why they are saying it.”

Previously, it was reported that Ram Gopal Varma had landed in legal trouble after allegedly sharing posts on social media about Telugu Desam Party (TDP) leaders, including Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu, his son Nara Lokesh, and daughter-in-law Brahmani. A police case was registered in Prakasam district following a complaint filed by TDP Mandal Secretary Ramalingam. Sub-inspector Siva Ramaiah confirmed that the case was filed under sections of the Information Technology (IT) Act.

"An investigation into the allegations has been launched," the sub-inspector informed.

Ram Gopal Varma reportedly shared controversial posts on social media as part of promoting his film Vyuham, leading to a complaint filed against him on Sunday night.

Incidentally, one of Ram Gopal Varma’s own most favourite films Naach celebrated twenty years today.

Ramu had nothing to say. “I don’t look back on my films. Not even Satya or Rangeela. Once they are done, they are done.”
