A revised dust storm warning was issued by the National Weather Service at Hanford, CA on Monday. The counties of Tulare, Fresno and Kings are under the alert. "At 2:29 pm, a dust channel was over Kingsburg, or 15 miles northeast of Hanford, moving southeast at 25 mph," according to NWS. "Highways 99 and 198 may see the most impacts from the blowing dust."
The following locations are affected by the warning: London, Home Garden, Laton, Goshen, Hanford, Reedley, Selma, Orosi, Dinuba, Parlier, Ivanhoe, Cutler, Visalia, Kingsburg and Traver.
The NWS said, "Dangerous life-threatening travel. Dust storms lead to dangerous driving conditions with visibility reduced to near zero." The Weather Service then added, "If driving, avoid dust storms if possible. If caught in one, pull off the road, turn off your lights and keep your foot off the brake."
The National Weather Service further advised that "infants, the elderly and others with respiratory conditions are urged to take immediate precautions" from the dust.
Several parts of Fresno County were warned of dust storms after sudden rains and strong winds hit the Central Valley.
The warning will be in effect till 3:15 pm.
