Vice President Kamala Harris reportedly spent over $20 million hours before her election loss against Donald Trump. The Democratic nominee organised swing-state concerts on Monday night and performers included the likes of Katy Perry and Lady Gaga. This comes after a Politico reporter tweeted about the Harris-Walz campaign being in massive debt – of the same amount – despite encashing billions in fundraising.
On Friday, The New York Post cited members of Harris' team to report that the campaign's funds took a huge hit after election-eve concerts. One performance, by Alanis Morissette, got scrapped to save money, the publication added.

The seven swing-state concerts on election eve featured Jon Bon Jovi in Detroit, Christina Aguilera in Las Vegas, Katy Perry in Pittsburgh and Lady Gaga in Philadelphia. 2 Chainz performed on November 2.
The Post further cited to sources to add that holding concerts was Obama campaign alum Stephanie Cutter's idea. The performers did not charge Kamala Harris, but other manforce and production resources needed to be paid.

“They said they were ‘spending to zero.’ I guess they overshot zero,” a source told the media outlet. The NY Post further quoted an insider saying that vendors 'will start getting upset' soon.
“They had huge advance teams for these concerts, like 40-60 people in some cities I’m sure vendors will start to get upset soon,” the source added. They said that expense reimbursements are still pending.
As it turned out, all of Kamala Harris' efforts went in vain as Donald Trump clean-sweeped the swing states.
