Former India cricketer Yuvraj Singh, who is well remembered for his six sixes off Stuart Broad in the 2007 T20 World Cup in Durban, has lauded Sanju Samson for his special innings at the same venue on Friday against the hosts. In a brilliant display of strokeplay, the India opener became the first from the country to score consecutive hundreds in T20Is.
In his new role as an opener in T20Is, Samson smacked 107 runs off 50 balls and led India to 202/8, which proved to be way too much for South Africa as they folded for a paltry 141 in 17.5 overs.
India thrashed the Proteas by 61 runs to take a 1-0 lead in the four-match T20I series. India also maintained their unbeaten record in Durban against South Africa for the last 17 years.
