Sopore: An encounter broke out on Thursday between Security Forces and terrorists in Jammu and Kashmir’s Sopore district. The gunfight erupted in Sagipora of the district. Two to three terrorists are believed to be trapped in the area.
Security forces launched a cordon and search operation after the presence of terrorists in the area. The joint operation was launched by the Indian Army and the Special Operations Group (SOG) of the Jammu and Kashmir Police.

Last week, top Lashkar Commander Usman alias Chota Waleed from Pakistan was killed in an encounter at the Khanyar area of Srinagar. Four security personnel were also injured in the gun battle. Two Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) jawans and two policemen were injured in the exchange of fire.
Earlier on October 29, the security forces neutralised three terrorists in a high-stakes encounter in Akhnoor, Jammu and Kashmir, following an attack on an Army convoy.
