Digital Payments Company Visa appointed Rishi Chhabra on Thursday as India's country manager.
He was the country head for India and Sri Lanka at Fiserv before to joining Visa. Earlier, he worked for JP Morgan, ABN AMRO, and General Electric, and he has had executive roles in companies like First Data and PayPal.
Chhabra has completed his Masters in Industrial Engineering from The Ohio State University and holds a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Mumbai.
The responsibilities of his new role include overseeing the India business, managing senior client relationships, and leading and carrying out the company's market-oriented strategic initiatives, the company stated in a statement.
Chhabra and his team will will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams in Asia Pacific and India to advance the company's India goal.
Chhabra will report to Sandeep Ghosh, group country manager for the cluster of markets including India, Sri Lanka, Maldives, Bangladesh, Nepal and Bhutan.

Chhabra joined Visa as VP and head-merchant services and acquiring for India and South Asia markets in 2023. He played an important role in driving the company's key acquirer, cobrand and merchant relationships. He has an experience of more than two decades in financial services and payments spanning across the US, Sri Lanka and India.
