mohammad rizwan on verge to break record of former pakistani captain

Mohammad Rizwan has been an asset for Pakistan, being a consistent performer for his side. Rizwan was named as captain last month for the national side after his brilliance at Rawalpindi. In August, he scored 171 not out and 51, top-scoring in each innings, in the first Test against Bangladesh. Rizwan made his debut soon after the 2015 ODI World Cup.

Till 2019 Rizwan wasn't a regular keeper in the presence of former captain Sarfaraz Ahmed, but after Babar Azam took over the captaincy he has been a part of all three formats.

Rizwan has an impressive average of 40+ in all three formats making him a valuable player for Pakistan. He is on the verge of breaking the record of former skipper and wicket-keeper batter Sarfaraz Ahmed.

The batter had the most 50+ scores against Australia as a wicketkeeper-batter, Rizwan has joined him with six as well. Currently, Pakistan is playing Australia for a three-match ODI series followed by three T20Is.

Rizwan had a decent outing in the first ODI with 44 runs, he is the only Pakistan keeper-batter to score 1000+ runs against mighty Australians.

The upcoming second ODI in Adelaide presents him with a chance to rediscover his form and deliver a crucial performance for his team. Rizwan could surpass the ex-skipper Sarfaraz in the number of fifty-plus scores as a designated wicketkeeper against the formidable Australians.

However, Sarfaraz took only 27 innings to score 6 fifties while Rizwan took 30 to do the same. So if Rizwan scores a fifty in this ODI series he will surpass Sarfaraz and create history.
