The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) confirmed that the 2025 Indian Premier League (IPL) auction will take place on November 24 and 2025. This will be the second time that the bidding wars will take place outside India, with the city of Jeddah in Saudi Arabia set to host the event.
The Indian cricket governing body has confirmed that a total of 1574 players have registered for the auction, which includes a total of 1165 Indians and 409 overseas players. Among the list of Indians set to go under the hammer, there are 48 capped players and 1117 uncapped players. Out of the players that have not played for India, 152 have previously been part of the auction.
Among international players, there are 272 capped players, 107 uncapped players, and 30 from an associate nation.

South Africa is the country with the most number of players with 91 players registering while 76 from Australia have found their name. Italy is a new inclusion in the list with one player from the European country.
A total of 204 will be sold at the auction with each teams allowed a maximum of 25-member squads. It is worth noting that the 10 teams have retained a total of 46 players heading in the auction.Every franchise can have a maximum of eight overseas players in their ranks.

It is worth noting that not all 1574 players will be up for grabs as the list will be cut down in the next few days.Also, the auction will head into an accelerated round where teams will be asked to list a few players that they want to go under the hammer and those not picked by any franchise will not be up for sale.
