Rohit Sharma not just had a series to forget with the bat making just 91 runs in six innings at an average of 15.16 but also was far from his best as a captain with multiple poor calls tactically.
Yashasvi Jaiswal – 5/10
Yashasvi Jaiswal finished as the second-highest run-getter for India with 190 runs in six innings but failed to score a big knock despite his rich run of form.
Shubman Gill – 5/10
Shubman Gill missed the first Test but played one of the best knocks of the series with a 90 against New Zealand at the Wankhede Stadium. Gill scored 144 runs in four innings at an average of 36.00.
Virat Kohli – 1/10
Despite a fluent 70 in the second innings of the Bengaluru Test, Virat Kohli had arguably the worst series of his career with the bat with just 93 runs in six matches at an average of 15.50.
Sarfaraz Khan – 6/10
Sarfaraz Khan scored the maiden Test century of his career with a knock of 150 in the Bengaluru Test (second innings). However, he failed to score more than 11 runs in the remaining five innings. He finished the series with 171 runs in six innings at an average of 28.50.
KL Rahul – 1/10
KL Rahul was dropped after the first Test making scores of 0 and 12 and faces a tough fight to regain his spot for the BGT.
Rishabh Pant – 8/10
In a series where India's battin collapsed like nine pins on multiple occasions, Rishabh Pant looked a class apart making 261 runs in six innings at an average of 43.50 with three half-centuries.
Ravindra Jadeja – 6/10
Ravindra Jadeja finished the series with 105 runs in six innings but proved a lone warrior in both innings of the Pune Test. He took 16 wickets with the ball including two five-wicket hauls in the Mumbai Test.
Ravichandran Ashwin – 3/10
Ravichandran Ashwin had the worst series of his 13-year-old long career at home taking just nine wickets in three matches and scored just 51 runs in six innings.
Kuldeep Yadav – 2/10
Kuldeep Yadav played just one Test and took three wickets in Bengaluru before being dropped in the second and third Test.
Washington Sundar – 10/10
Washington Sundar was called up to the squad after the first Test in a bold selection call. He proved a rare positive in the series for India and did not put a foot wrong. Sundar took 16 wickets in two matches and scored 89 runs at an average of 44.50.
Jasprit Bumrah – 2/10
Jasprit Bumrah had a rare quiet series with just three wickets in two matches before being rested for the Mumbai Test due to a 'viral illness.'
Mohammed Siraj – 1/10
Mohammed Siraj's horror run of form continued as he took just two wickets in two matches while being rested for the Pune Test.
