BTS Jungkook is a K-pop idol for a reason. Despite being away serving his mandatory military duties, his solos are keeping ARMY rooting for him. In the latest list of feats, Jungkook's song Standing Next To You has become the fastest song by a K-pop soloist to cross 1 billion streams on Spotify.
Jungkook creates history
Standing Next to You, which released on November 3, 2023, has managed to achieve the feat exactly within a year, making the BTS member the fastest K-pop soloist to reach this milestone.
This is not the first time that Jungkook's song has crossed 1 billion streams. It follows his previous tracks Seven and Left and Right with Charlie Puth, which also reached an impressive stream count.

In the meantime, his music video 3D feat. Jack Harlow too surpassed 200 million views on YouTube. The music video to his single released on September 29, 2023, and after one year of its release, the song achieved the numbers.
Personal and professional front
For the unversed, Jungkook enlisted to complete his mandatory military service with his fellow bandmate Jimin in December 2023. They completed their five-week-long basic military training at the 5th Infantry Division. Following that, Jungkook reportedly began serving as a cook. He will be discharged in June 2025.
Jungkook made his solo debut in July 2023 with Seven, following which he released a collab with The Kid LAROI and dropped his solo album GOLDEN. In celebration of BTS’ 11th debut anniversary, the singer released Never Let Go.
