India is going through a huge surge in pickleball and with a growth rate of 150%, the Asian country is hailed as the best among the developing nations pertaining to this sport. Last month in October, India for the first-time ever witnessed it's first-ever international competition in the PWR DUPR India Masters at New Delhi's Delhi Lawn Tennis Association (DLTA) Stadium and it was a grand success as a total of 750 players enthralled the Indian fans in the 4-day PWR700 event. It was also the very first event of the PWR Indian Tour of the PWR Calendar.
After the capital city, the action will now shift to the City of Joy, Kolkata, where the state of West Bengal will witness it's first-ever DUPR-PWR pickleball tournament in November.
The Indian Pickleball Association (IPA) announced Bengal's very first DUPR-certified Pickleball World Ranking tournament on Thursday 31st October. The tournament will give the players the opportunity for the Bengal State rankings, PWR 100 points and also a chance to compete for the National Tournament in December.

Kolkata's Ballygunge Arena will host the big tournament from 21st to 24th November and the categories will be for Juniors, 35+ and 50+. More details about the tournament will be announced in the coming days.
Former WTA-ranked tennis player, Amrita Mukherjee is expected to be a part of the tournament, who also played at the PWR DUPR India Masters tournament as well in New Delhi.
The event and venue partners will be the Ballygunge Arena and AT Sports. The tournament has also roped in Franklin X-40 as ball sponsor, Fans Play as fan engagement partner and Citadel Law Chambers as the legal partner of the competition.
Delhi turned out to be a great host and now it's Kolkata's turn to do an encore as the city is renowned for it's passionate culture in sports.
