Actor-director Suhasini Hasan recently shared an Instagram update on her father, veteran actor Charuhasan’s health, along with heartfelt photos captioned 'Always Anna’s girl.' Charuhasan, 93, was hospitalised following a fall just before Deepavali, and he underwent surgery soon after.
I’m fine. I will come back and see you…
In a video from the hospital, Suhasini Hasan documented her father reassuring the family, saying, “I’m fine. I will come back and see you… I’ll be alright.” Suhasini Hasan shared, “Our Deepavali was in an emergency, but we are all geared up for surgery.”
Later, Suhasini updated on the social media platform writing, "All those who sent their concerns. The surgery was successful. He’s doing fine".

National Film Award for Best Actor
Charuhasan, elder brother of actor Kamal Haasan, is a celebrated actor and director known for his work across Kannada, Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam, and Hindi cinema. He won the National Film Award for Best Actor in a leading role in 1986 for his role in the Kannada film Tabarana Kathe, directed by Girish Kasaravalli, marking a milestone for Kannada cinema.
The first National Film for Best actor in Kannada was bagged by M V Vasudeva Rao for his iconic role of Choma in the acclaimed Kannada film Chomana Dudi in 1975. Charanhasan got it in 1986, and then Sanchari Vijay in 2014 for his performance in Nanu Avanalla Avalu and recently Rishab Shetty for his outstanding performance in Kantara.
Following his hospitalisation, Charuhasan fans and film industry colleagues, including Laila, Rahman, Khushbu, and Madhavan, offered well-wishes for his recovery.
