Lake Charles: Shooting Near Prien Lake Mall Prompts Police Response, No Active Shooter

Police in Lake Charles, Louisiana are investigating a shooting on Saturday afternoon near the Prien Lake Mall on West Prien Lake Road and West College Street. Police have confirmed that there is no active shooter at the mall.

As of 3 pm local time, no arrest has been made. Lake Charles police said that there are no reports of injuries, as of now. However, the investigators are checking with the local hospitals to verify if anyone was transported before the police responded.

The mall was cleared off and searched and remains closed, as of now, local reports say.
