Srinagar: One terrorist has been killed in the Srinagar Khanyar encounter as the operation continues. Four security personnel were also injured during the operation. Security forces launched a cordon and search operation in Khanyar this morning following inputs about the presence of terrorists in the area.
According to sources, top Lashkar Commander Usman alias Chota Waleed from Pakistan has been killed in an encounter at Khanyar area of Srinagar.
The search operation turned into an encounter as the terrorists opened fire at the search party, which retaliated.
Two Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) jawans and two policemen were injured in the exchange of fire. They were taken to the Army's 92 Base Hospital. Their condition is stated to be stable, the officials said.

"On 01 November 2024 late evening, suspicious movement was spotted, in gen area Panar of Bandipora, by alert troops. On being challenged, terrorists opened indiscriminate fire and escaped into the jungle. Search Operation underway," Chinar Corps, Indian Army posted on X.
Earlier on October 29, the security forces neutralised three terrorists in a high-stakes encounter in Akhnoor, Jammu and Kashmir, following an attack on an Army convoy.
In another ongoing operation, two terrorists were gunned down by the security forces near Halkan Gali in the Shangus-Larnoo area in Anantnag district of Jammu and Kashmir, according to officials.
