Junaid Khan has been receiving a lot of love for his performance in Netflix release Maharaj. He has recently made his Bollywood debut and dad Aamir Khan is proud but did you know, Aamir did not want Junaid to join films.

The Lagaan actor talked about in one of the episodes of Amitabh Bachchan’s quiz show Kaun Banega Crorepati 16. In the episode, Big B, as Amitabh Bachchan is called, praised Junaid’s performance in Maharaj.

Junaid has a huge fanbase after Maharaj and his web series Tanaav. His performance has made fans go gaga, and they are waiting for his upcoming projects. At KBC 16, when Aamir graced the hot seat along with son Junaid Khan he has told the audience that he had ‘advised Junaid to not pursue acting.’

Aamir did NOT want Junaid to pursue acting!

Aamir said, "I advised Junaid not to pursue acting after he faced numerous rejections during auditions." The Lagaan actor said that despite the rejections, Junaid was selected for Maharaj and he thought that his son should not do the role.

During the gameplay, Mr. Amitabh Bachchan praised Junaid Khan for his performance in the recent film, Maharaj, asking him what he has learned from his father’s vast experience in the industry. Aamir Khan responded with a hint of sarcasm, saying, "Initially, I had advised Junaid not to do the film since he had undergone multiple screen tests and faced rejections each time. However, he was selected for Maharaj, and I thought he shouldn’t take it.”

Junaid further added, saying, "I wanted to join a theatre school, and Dad agreed, giving me valuable advice: ‘You can learn acting anywhere, through experience. But if you want to succeed in the Indian film industry, you must understand Hindi and the culture of this country. You need to connect with the people of India; otherwise, you might be a great actor but you won't fit in here.’"
