Dhubri: In a heartfelt display of solidarity and festive cheer, Inspector General Sanjay Gaur, BSF Frontier Headquarter, Gauhati, celebrated Diwali with Border Security Force (BSF) troops and the local residents at the Dhubri sector on the Riverine border. The visit underscores the BSF’s commitment to both operational readiness and community engagement along India’s borders.
IG Gaur was joined by DIG Ashutosh Sharma from Sector Headquarters Dhubri, and Commandant Ajit Kumar, as they lit lamps and candles along the border fence, creating a warm and festive ambiance. The event was marked by an atmosphere of joy and unity, as senior BSF officers interacted with the local community, bringing smiles and a sense of pride to those living near the border.
The presence of IG Gaur and his senior officers boosted the morale of the BSF troops, whose motivation and “josh” (spirit) were evidently high as they celebrated Diwali away from their homes. The event served as a reminder of the enduring bond between the BSF and the communities they protect, especially during significant festivals like Diwali.
IG Sanjay Gaur, who recently took charge of the Gauhati Frontier Headquarters, is on a two-day tour of the Dhubri sector to assess the operational preparedness of the region. During the celebrations, he distributed sweets and extended warm greetings to the jawans, emphasizing the BSF’s commitment to supporting the well-being and morale of its personnel.
The event concluded on a positive note, with both BSF troops and local residents filled with joy from the unique opportunity to celebrate Diwali alongside high-ranking officers on the border.
