23 days before the blockbuster Border Gavaskar Trophy (BGT) series begins, the 'A' teams of the India and Australian teams will play each other in the first of two unofficial Test matcches from Thursday (October 31) at the Great Barrier Reef Arena in Mackay.
The second match will take place at the iconic Melbourne Cricket Ground (MCG) from 7th November. The Ruturaj Gaikwad-led side play the senior Indian team in a three-day simulation match at the WACA Stadium in Perth from November 15.
While most players are trying to make a case to be the Indian team in a long-term period but all eyes will be on Abhimaynu Easwaran and Nitish Kumar Reddy. Both players are uncapped in Test cricket but are in the Rohit Sharma-led squad for the Border Gavaskar Trophy (BGT). Impressive performances in these matches could help both convince the team management to give them a debut in the longest format of the game when India face Australia on November 22 at the Optus Stadium in Perth.
