Mumbai: In a new initiative, Mumbai Airport has launched a program called ‘Pawfect,’ which features dogs stationed on weekends to comfort anxious travelers. According to airport officials, the program includes nine adorable dogs at Airport’s Terminal 2, ready to greet and soothe passengers before their journey.
In an X post, Mumbai Airport announced the initiative and wrote, ''#MumbaiAirport is thrilled to announce the return of its wildly popular ‘Pawfect’ initiative. Ready to melt the travel stress away and turn the airport experience into a fun-filled adventure.''

A spokesperson for Mumbai International Airport Ltd (MIAL) said, "The pack includes various breeds, such as a Golden Retriever, a Maltese, a rescued Husky, a Shih Tzu, a Lhasa Apso, a Labrador, and more, all specially trained to spread happiness and reduce stress," as quoted by TOI.
The spokesperson mentioned that from Friday to Sunday, between 3 PM and 11 PM, these dogs will be stationed in the Terminal 2 departures area, including Domestic Level 3 and after immigration. "The trained canine companions are skilled in detecting and responding to the moods of travelers, offering unconditional love and comfort," he added.
The official also said, "Interacting with these furry friends provides a calming break, helping passengers relax and ease their travel anxiety. This initiative aims to bring joy and surprise to the airport environment, acknowledging that air travel can be exhausting and stressful for some," as quoted by TOI.
Providing more details about the initiative, the official further stated that this program is a groundbreaking effort in an Indian airport, featuring stars like Bella, a gentle and affectionate Golden Retriever known for her warm and uplifting personality. He said, "Bella's specialized training in bringing joy to travelers and engaging with children with special needs perfectly complements her calm demeanor, creating a delightful oasis amidst the bustling airport. Together with her team, Bella continues to bring smiles and comfort to countless travelers, enhancing their experience at Mumbai Airport," as quoted by TOI.
